Hey Jon D. - check the stats. Accident rates start very high for the 16 to 24 yr olds and follow an extremely sharp downward slope to about age 35, where they stay flat until about age 60 to 65. At that point, they start rising modestly until age 70 when they skyrocket. At age 75 they pass the 16 yr old and keep climbing. My 16 year old son who is so far a terrific driver gets hammered on insurance. The 86 year old woman who pulled a last second left in front of my boss' father-in-law and put him in a coma which is now 2 months and counting, pays minimum. It's an outrage what we let this class of drivers get away with. I thought that horrible incident in CA might be the trigger to change things. A week or so of sound and fury, now nothing.
